Hello Llanos, first: please include mailing list in your replies in order to others can see answers
Debian is one from several linux distributions. See http://www.debian.org/ for more informations. I can't tell you which distribution are you have installed. Try write command 'apt-get'. If this command exists, it is possible that you are useing debian.
By the way I recommend to learn linux basics before you will try install any application to it.

Hello, thanks for your help. I'm just a student that's why I have so many problems. To be honest, I'm not sure if I use debian, I mean, I don't work with it but maybe it's running and the system does work with it,- This is what I've found in my PC.

Hello, apx should be part of af apache. But is long ago when I last compiled php. I don't remember it well. If you are useing debian, you only need install packages: libapache-mod-php4, php4-mysql and php4-pear

Hello, I've got a serious problem with the isntallation of Serweb and would really appreciate some help. Before trying to install SERWEB, I had already apache running on my pc: Server version: Apache/2.0.40. The error I found when trying to log to SERWEB was *Fatal error*: Call to undefined function: mysql_pconnect() in */var/www/html/serweb/serweb_2004-07-27/phplib/db_mysql.inc* on line *73* and according to the INSTALL documente that was given with SERWEB I found out I had to install php with mysql support. I downloaded php-4.3.11 and tried to follow instructions for installation, but I needed to include the option --with-apxs and the configuration tool couldn't find apxs, neither could I manually. I tried to install it including only the option --with-mysql but the error I get is still the same one. What should i do? Should I reinstall apache? Any other ideas? Is it a php-mysql error for sure?Thank you!! Llanos
