Does SER equip DNS client functionality? I want to know if SER needs DNS client soft to
query DNS.

If by that you mean if the resolver must be configured the answer is
yes.
(if DNS queries work on the machine they will work also with ser)
You don't need any special software, the resolv library is included on
all UNIX systems.
