can someone point me in the right direction as to how i can use kamailio as a registration proxy similar to how opensips does mid_registrar?
i want to proxy all sip registrations through kamailio to asterisk or freeswitch

If you want to proxy registrations with multiple kamailio, you could use dispatcher with setid (eventually combining with dialplan for regex matching) and set outbound proxy on asterisk / free switch . For nat handing , kamailio needs to handle correctly the contact if private ip is presented, before relaying to asterisk/fs. Take a look at default config , route NATMANAGE.
