am experiencing same issue as number of other SER users with the nathelper module -
module errors on startup -
parameter <ping_nated_only> not found in module nathelper
previous articles suggests issue of version of nathelper.so
to this end i have tried the ser-0.8.12.tbz packages (for FreeBSD 5.1) from these locations;
ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/ser/0.8.12/packages/freebsd/5.1/i386/
ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/ser/latest/packages/freebsd/5.1/i386/
both with same results -
can anyone provide location of updated package ??
not too sure if this is just a question of patching the nathelper.so module or does this have other dependencies ?

Unfortunately this functionality is only available from the cvs version of the ser. However, it should be relatively easy to get sources from cvs manually and to compile them on FreeBSD. Please check ser's site for details.

Serusers mailing list serusers@lists.iptel.org http://lists.iptel.org/mailman/listinfo/serusers
Maxim, duly noted and compiled on the system
nathelper now loads correctly - thank you
we now need to progress with the changes to the configuration file ser.cfg to reflect the nathelper functions.
i have found the proxy services of iptel.org to yield a fully functional sip system and was wondering therefore if the configuration file on the production iptel.org site could be made available as a point of reference for my internal sip system ?
if this is not possible for reasons of security or whatever, perhaps an abridged version with just the nathelper configuration would be very helpful
Thank you

You can find an older version of the iptel.org config file in the archives of the mailing list.

An example can be found in sip_router/etc/nathelper.cfg
