Hello,
i would like to know if there is a way or option to limit the length of the value of branch parameter in Via header ?
Thanks.
Hello,
not sure why one wants to do this, but anyway - do you mean the value that is processed from Kamailio, or the one that is generated from Kamailio?
Cheers,
Henning

Hello Patrick,
then you probably need to change the code of Kamailio.
The length of the Via branch parameter is not restricted in RFC 3261. The relevant section only states:
https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc3261#section-8.1.1.7
The branch parameter value MUST be unique across space and time for all requests sent by the UA. [..] The branch ID inserted by an element compliant with this specification MUST always begin with the characters "z9hG4bK". [..] Beyond this requirement, the precise format of the branch token is implementation-defined.
Cheers,
Henning
