I searched for the voice mail feature and found an example "Example 5-3. Example ser Config File" at the Admin's Guide in the following url: http://old.iptel.org/ser/doc/seruser/seruser.html#AEN1364 Inside that example, there is a statement to load vm.so as follows: loadmodule "modules/vm/vm.so" However, I cannot find vm.so under the ser-0.9.6. Please advise where I can find vm.so for voice mail feature.

vm.so is depricated a few versions back, so I would say the document you are refering too is alittle outdated. but check the page I put in the top. there you should see alot of info on how to use and configure sems with ser.

I followed the instructions on the web url as follows: http://www.iptel.org/howto/sems_application_development_tutorial Then I made some SIP calls (sip:1XX@sems-server-ip:5060) and SEMS did anwer and show the debug information. I would like to focus on the voice mail feature which is 115 in this example and want to study more on SEMS. Here are some questions I have (sorry for the newbie questions on SEMS): - Is there a manual like SER-Getting Start for SEMS as well ? or at least a complete explanation for the SEMS example ? I did look at sems.conf but cannot fully understand how to change it. For example, this SEMS example allows callers to leave a message and send out with email, but I did not know how to specify the message is belongs to whom and which email address to send out. - Another approach is to find the replacement for vm.so in the example in the following url http://old.iptel.org/ser/doc/seruser/seruser.html#AEN1364 Is there any info/example for the replacement for vm.so ?

I think this thread should continue on the SEMS mailiglist instead of SER mailiglist.
You dont need vm.so anymore. vm.so (wich sounds very voicemail out ;P) is as I said depricated. And if you look at www.iptel.org/sems you will find that there are alot of documentation poppingup there.

check out Configure-Sems-Ser-HOWTO in the documentation that comes with te source (sems/doc directory), or linked from iptel.org/sems
There is a sample config file here as well: (http://ftp.iptel.org/pub/sems/ser.cfg , linked from iptel.org/sems, too).
email address is passed to sems as additional header: P-Email-Address; you load it to an AVP and append it to the INVITE with tw_append.

I looked at Configure-Sems-Ser-HOWTO and have some ideas for SEMS+SER although this document is in-completed (it mentioned a sample given in 3.2 but the whole section 3 Configuratioin files used in this HOWTO is missing).
