Hi all,
I'm sure someone must have heard about Linux VoIP Server LiveCD http://www.wifi.com.ar/english/voip.html. By considering ROI, i planing to get one in with asterisk B2BUA solution package. I myself are really not good to build one, which could be time consume and might go wrong especially the billing part. Since the LiveCD is utilizing SER, I'm thinking to setup some asterisk servers for B2BUA and PSTN gateway purpose and integrate with it.
Therefore, I would like to seek more opinions and advices from the experts. It's worth to get one or should i go for consultant help? And anyone play with it before?
Thank regards kh'ng
$399, waste of money, jump in do it urself, u'll learn lots more, and the problem with the CD, you will need to make changes for it to fit ur environment, thats where u may have problems if you dont understand whats under the hood.
Try www.onsip.org, its got a nice starter guide as a howto, with a basic config, once you have that up and running the rest is plain sailing

Agreed on all points. It also doesn't do pre-paid cutoff and parts of it just don't work at all. Don't ask how I know :)

Don't know how he does know, but a friend of me gave me the CD for a week to test it, and I have to agree... But the main problem still is that if u need to modify the configuration for ur needs, U can't..
I must say anyway, the idea was great.

Hi,
If you want to build an Asterisk PBX over Linux, you may consider the RAPID distribution from www.xorcom.com .
A free excellent product. Very easy installation.
Best Regards, Dov.

Hi,
IMHO they are violating the GPL, because they just collected all the opensource software which they could get. But you can not get the sources of what they are distributing (at least I did not found it for the VoIP server and questions regarding this topic are ignored by them). And I doubt that the CD will contain all the sources.
Summary: if you are able to spend some money, better donate it to some real opensource project :-)
Regards Nils
