I'm working on packaging ser for Debian. We currently ship 0.9.7, but have
also packaged a 2.0 snapshot which seems to be working well. We now need
to
decide which version to ship in the upcoming "lenny" release of Debian. Do
you have any information that you can share about the release plans for
SER
2.0? This would help us a lot in making this decision.
SER 2.0 is being officially release really soon now. The only
reason this hasn't been done yet, is missing documentation.
So, definitely go for 2.0. If all things go well, we will have
it followed by 2.1 relatively quickly. What is the timeframe
for the lenny release? There is a couple of changes in 2.1
that are worthwhile having and it seems fairly stable already.
Since Debian stable releases stay with a certain version for
some time, it may be good to have that version.
