After searching through the archives, I am no more confused. I am using SER 0.8.14 and asterisk for voicemail. Asterisk is sending many OPTION requests to SER, which go unanswered. I saw some posts from early last year that there was an options module. However, I am unable to find this module. I also saw posts that OPTIONS is not supported by SER. Can anyone tell me which statement is true here?
OPTION messages are support in ser-0.9 and unstable ser in cvs. The options module you mentioned is part of ser-0.9

What happens to OPTIONS requests depends on your configuration (as usual on SER :). With a normal configuration OPTIONS requests with your server address in the request URI will end up in the user location lookup and thus be answered with 404, as their is no user name. The options module is able to answer on OPTIONS requests, but be sure that only OPTIONS requests and only request with one of the addresses of your server will be answered by the module because this is not verified in the module itself.

There is indeed an OPTIONS module to answer sip OPTIONS packets directed at SER, it is in 0.9.0, but i don't know if it's in 0.8.14, take a look in the src module tree for infomation & a working example.
