Does anyone know how to insert a User-Agent field into the header BEFORE Mediaproxy gets
it?
I am trying to set up mediaproxy to work with a UA that is asymmetric, but it doesn't
recognize the UA because this header field is missing.

I don't think this is possible, unless you forward the request to the proxy
again over loopback. You can add the header field using append_hf function
from textops module, but mediaproxy won't see it probably.
