I have seen that, besides the fifo interface, SER has an unix socket interface too.
Is there any documention or at least any example of usage? What are the advantages over the fifo interface?
If I'm correct, serctl uses only the fifo interface, right?

No, only for the fifo interface.

It is more efficient and simpler to use.
