Dear Users
Please advise how to detect a network lost at caller or callee side. I have tried timeout_sockethttps://kamailio.org/docs/modules/5.1.x/modules/rtpproxy.html#rtpproxy.p.timeout_socket and keepalives https://kamailio.org/docs/modules/5.1.x/modules/dialog.html#dialog.p.ka_interval method but nothing worked for me.
RTPproxy did not send timeout notification to Kamailio (Issue #1597https://github.com/kamailio/kamailio/issues/1597) while there is no options packet within a dialog. Is there any other method to cater such scenario.

Alex I already tried this but it didn't work. There are no OPTIONS packet to caller or callee.

I use it; it works. I would troubleshoot that angle further.
Alex's suggestion works fine for me as well.
Have you tried using dialog functions, like so:
dlg_manage(); dlg_set_property("timeout-noreset"); # don't reset timeout on in-dialog messages reception #set dialog properties. If any party disappears from the network - issue a BYE after timeout on OPTIONS dlg_set_property("ka-src"); # send keep alive OPTION requests to caller dlg_set_property("ka-dst"); # send keep alive OPTION requests to callee

I think it's:
- The *ka_timer* is what sends the OPTIONS but they will only be sent every *ka_interval* to endpoints? So in the 10s example, the timer is run every 10s, it checks if *ka_interval *has passed since last OPTIONS was sent to endpoint, and acts accordingly... This means that the combinations of ka_timer=10 with ka_interval=300 would send OPTIONS ever 300-309s right?
Does this make sense?

I'm not all too sure about the ka_timer, but it must be more or less how you described it. In my observation below, when caller disappears from the network, Kamailio sends 10 OPTIONS requests followed by 10 BYE if no reply received, which is probably the value of ka_timer.
