Hi,
I am newcomer in SIP and Kamailio Wold an have a question.
I have two IP Telefones and would like to realize with Kamailio an IP Communication. The Problem:
a. The UA 1 calls UA 2 b. UA 2 start recording the video form UA 1, before a SIP call is established (early media)
How can I do that? Can anybody help me or can give me any Info about example application.
Thank you very much.

This has nothing to do with Kamailio (a proxy SIP which, of course, doesn't handle media).
Thanks Iñaki,
I am looking for examples, tipps that help me to use Kamailio an RTPproxy, also an example configuration

First learn SIP (RFC 3261). Later read the full documentation about Kamailio (look for it in kamailio.org). And then, read the specific documentation of rtoproxy module.
There is no magic and fast "howto" to learn using Kamailio.
Regards.

Just a small addition, there is of course no need to read docs for modules or core parts that you don't want to use.
The example configuration that is delivered with version 1.5.1 already includes some parts for rtpproxy, take a look to the cfg header on how to enable this.
There is no magic and fast "howto" to learn using Kamailio.
Sure, work is involved. But one also need to stop reading docs at some point and start experimenting.. :-)
Cheers,

I know, I have to learn how IP, SIP, RTPProxy etc. work. I am reading docs about that. But I can learn and understand faster with examples (parallel with theory). I hope It is not too difficult for you to understand it. You did not answer my questions. And I did not need such brilliant tips.

I did not say learning kamailio would be magic.

Every question is brilliant. There are only stupid answers (German saw).
I have brilliant tips/answers from other users (thanks) and you can compare these with your answers. You are not forced to say/do anything, if you can not or you dont want to du that. Not all users are genius (same u).

There is a book based on openser that you can buy. While Kamailio has progressed and developed, it does provide a beginners guide to understand what you are reading on the Kamailio site.
http://www.packtpub.com/building-telephony-systems-with-openser/book
I bought the e-book version for US$26 and found it very helpful.

another good piece of documentation to start with is ser getting started tutorial: http://www.iptel.org/ser/doc/gettingstarted
While many have changed in kamailio, still inherits lot from ser, therefore worth reading. Also, it becomes more actual with next version based on http://sip-router.org.

Hello, o bahanfar@hotmail.de [05/13/09 11:23]:
Hi,
I am newcomer in SIP and Kamailio Wold an have a question.
I have two IP Telefones and would like to realize with Kamailio an IP Communication. The Problem:
a. The UA 1 calls UA 2 b. UA 2 start recording the video form UA 1, before a SIP call is established (early media)
early media is the other way round, from UA 2 to UA 1. UA 1 starts sending media (audio, video, whatever) when it receives 200 OK with SDP answer from UA1 - before it could not possibly know where to send media to, what codec etc.
Stefan
How can I do that? Can anybody help me or can give me any Info about example application.
Thank you very much.

can, but does usually not do.
It also does not make sense to not setup the session, if you do want to have the session.

I have seen most of 183 with sdp, maybe is just me ... as opposite to 180 ringing, 183 session in progress has sdp.
It also does not make sense to not setup the session, if you do want to have the session.
One usage case can be playing a message and letting caller to agree via dtmf/ivr before forwarding the call to destination. If does not agree and call is cancelled, there won't be any cdr reported to caller.
Cheers, Daniel
