Hello to all
Im trying to register SIP clients (Cisco IP phone and Planet VIP )that
are located behind an ADSL line ( and behind NAT), and the first time
they register, they receive the OK from OpenSER, but when I reboot the
phone, they cant connect again. They receive "401 Unauthorized" from
OpenSER.
OpenSER isnt returning "401 Unauthorized" in any part of openser.cfg
Im not using firewall.
Can the problem be in the type of NAT?
Can someone help me?
Thanks

Hi, I'm having a problem with mediaproxy.
I'm trying to proxy through from the internet to a SIP switch which is on a
private network.
I have a machine that has connectivity to both the internet and the private
network, but as the request comes in on the public interface, if you issue
a use_media_proxy(); it changes the "c=IN IP4" header from the initial INVITE
from the SIP client to the external address of SER instead of the internal
one, which means that the SIP switch's RTP packets can never reach the
mediaproxy, as the switch doesn't have a valid route to the internet.
I can establish a call, but obviously the SIP sends it's RTP packets to the
external address so they never get there.
Also, I noticed that the SDP that the client receives also contains the
private addresses of the cirpack switch.
Could someone give me some tips on what the best way to "bridge" two separate
networks with mediaproxy is?

Hi,
I've been trying to get OpenSER to work with Eyebeam 1.5 using TLS, but I
always get a certificate error. I've created certificates using
"gen_rootCA.sh" and "gen_usercert.sh" scripts. Which of these certificates I
should store to the machine running the eyebeam client?
Eyebeam requires the certificate to be stored to the computers "root
certificate store". This is what the user manual says...
"When using TLS, you must have the root certificate that signs the proxy's
chain of certificates. The certificates must be stored on the eyeBeam
computer, in the root certificate store."
I think I've figured out how to import a new certificate to Windows XP, but
by default it does not support .pem files. I've changed the extension to
.crt since that is what Windows recognises, but this doesn't seem to help.
Somehow the certificate just does not appear to the root certificate store.
What certificate I should put to the client machine? Do I also need to use
the private key generated by "gen_usercert.sh" for something on the client
side?

I was able to get ser (0.9.6) running with mysql 4.1.16, but upon upgrading
to mysql 5.0.21, I am having problems again. MySQL loads fine, as does SER,
but when my UA attempts to register with the database, I see these errors
throughout my mysql log:
[Warning] Aborted connection 109 to db: 'nv_proxy' user: 'nvproxy' host:
'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets)
If I try to make a call, I get a 407 Proxy Authentication Required failure,
which I expect. There are no errors in /var/log/messages that indicate what
exactly the problem is with my database access, so ser seems to think things
are okay.
Has anyone seen this before or have any idea what I might have missed in my
upgrade from 4.1.16 to 5.0.21 MySQL?
Thanks in advance,
Steve
HI, I am using software ser 0.9.6 on Slackware with an external MySQL
database.
Someone can say me if it is possible to share the sip traffic on more
SPS? How?
Thanks, Luca
So, it's the same version. But I don't get the SIP option in the accounts settings.
Why could that be ?
On which Windows version do you use that ? I use XP Pro.
Do you have any idea why that option does not show up on my messenger ?
Thanks,
ilker

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded Windows messenger 5.1 (5.1.0701) from the link you sent. Unfortunately I don't see "SIP Communications Service Account" in the Accounts window.
Only 2 options (.NET Passport Account and Exchange Account) What version do you use ?
Thanks,
ilker

* then i clicked "advanced" and checked "configure settings" and put in my hostname of the ser box.....ser.domain.com.......and then checked "udp"
that's it

How do you connect to a SIP server with Windows Messenger 5.1 ?
It only allows me to connect to Passport.

Hi,
a) Can any one suggest a free IM client that I can use to test SIP+SIMPLE using the ser + presence ?
I tried with windows messenger 5.1, but it does not seems to be working with the ser + presence server configuration that I used the latest snap shot (ser-0.10.99-dev35-pa-4.1_src.tar.gz).
b) Also, can any one suggest a working sample config for presence (without using the database)?
Any suggestions on this is highly appreciated.
Regards,
Suraj

Hi!
I'm used to debian, thus all I ever did was "make deb". But as there are
lots of spec files for rpm based distros in packaging/rpm: How do I
build RPM packages?
Thanks
